March Weigh-In

Well, we’re one-quarter of the way through the year! Can’t believe it, this year has already flown by so quickly.

I wish I had better news to report this week. Sadly, I do not.

Let’s just get into the weekly weigh-ins, shall we?

March 7th – 191.6 lbs

March 14th – 191.8 lbs

March 21st – 193.6 lbs

March 28th – 195.6 lbs

Notice a trend here? Things are not going in the direction I’d hoped for.

My Rocky Diet

Honestly, I only have myself to blame. Well, myself and the Girl Scouts.

Admittedly, I went a little wild on Thin Mints this month. I bought quite a few boxes with the intention of putting them away and enjoying them for a while. I think the 5 boxes lasted about 2.5 weeks.

Did I need to eat a sleeve for lunch 3 times a week? Nope.

Did I need to eat a box when I was having a bad day? No.

Did I need to buy 5 boxes at once? Definitely not.

Not too thrilled with myself for this one.

Eating Better

I’ve already shared that I’ve been having a hard time finding a chance to work out. It’s a struggle I’m having that doesn’t seem to be letting up any time soon. I’m just too busy being a mom, working full-time, taking care of household duties, and working on my novel to fit it in.

It’s definitely not an excuse, but an issue that I’m actively dealing with and working on managing.

That being said, there is something I have much more control over: my diet.

During Lent, I decided to give up soda. I’m very proud to say that I didn’t have a single drop of soda the entire 40 days! I only even craved it once.

I’ve decided that I’m going to continue with this restriction and eliminate it from my diet. I did indulge twice after the end of Lent. I may indulge every now and then but I will certainly keep it to a minimum!

Weight Loss Buddy

My fiancé has been feeling a bit frustrated lately with his weight as well. We’re going to try to work together to help each of us reach our weight loss goals.

We’re going to be proactive in planning out our meals and purchasing healthier options for our diet. We’re also going to work together to come up with fitness routines. Or, we’re going to find a way to trade off mom & dad duty so the other person can work out.

It’s great to have a support system to help you out!

Starting in April

I wasn’t able to weigh myself on April 1st since I was traveling, but I did weigh myself yesterday.

Spoiler Alert: I’m not thrilled.

April 4th – 200.0 lbs

In one week, I managed to gain 5 lbs. I don’t have the Girl Scouts to blame that on! Although, I do realize that what you do to your body this month is how your body will look next month. So, I’m still paying for my lack of food choices.

I started out this year weighing 187. I’ve now gained 13 lbs. I can’t have this. Now my goal to lose 30 lbs is up to losing 43 lbs.

I refuse to let this get me down! I’m going to use this to motivate myself. I will lose the weight. April will be much more successful than the last few months. Cheer me on!

I want to hear your experiences. Share your weight loss journey with me!
